Introduction and History

Founded in 2009, Lamicare Health initially focused its efforts on developing the active ingredient CEM-K™, a highly efficacious, proprietary extract of sea kelp. The company invested in multiple scientific and clinical trials which culminated in the granting of a South African patent in 2016.

Lamicare Health developed Dermikelp®, a range of dermatology products which incorporated the patented CEM-K™ active. Since the successful launch and commercialisation of the Dermikelp®️ brand in South Africa in 2014, the company continues to expand its global sales footprint, including distribution in Europe, UK, SE Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

The company continues to develop and commercialise new products and brands focused on the global consumer health market. The company develops and sells products to the Dermatology and Health Supplements sector, as well as the veterinary and pet care market, specialising in pet and equine dermatology.

At Lamicare Health, our mission is to produce a range of nature-based products, but not at the expense of nature itself.

That’s why all of the kelp used in our products is sustainably harvested by hand, promoting healthy forest regeneration in order to preserve this precious resource and its delicate ecosystem for the future.

Through our patented extraction process, we use every part of the plant to make CEM-K™️, the active ingredient used in some of our major brands. Rather than discarding any unused part of the plant, we process this for agricultural use, returned to nature as nutrient-rich plant food, or, as animal feed. What’s more, all of our packaging is 100% recyclable and recycled.
